Chinese Takeaway Style Prawn Crackers

Ingredients

  • ready to fry prawn crackers
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Heat oil for deep frying to 200C. Using tongs and working quickly, drop 1-2 ready to fry prawn crackers at a time into the oil and immediately push down into the oil so that they are completely covered. The prawn crackers will puff up and be fully cooked in just a few seconds. Remove from the oil with tongs or a slotted spoon, drain off any excess oil and set aside on kitchen paper. Repeat until you have as many cooked prawn crackers as you'd like.
  • The crispy prawn crackers will cool down and be ready to serve in just a few seconds. Serve your prawn crackers with your favourite Chinese takeaway style dishes. If you want to keep them or make ahead, put the cooked prawn crackers in a sealed plastic bag or sealed container to ensure they stay crispy. They’ll keep well for a couple of days at room temperature.
