Slow Cooked Pork Shoulder Steaks With Star Anise

Ingredients

  • 4 pork shoulder steaks around 700g total weight
  • 250 ml light chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 whole star anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon MSG

Instructions

  • In a pot, add 4 pork shoulder steaks, 250 ml light chicken stock, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 whole star anise, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon MSG. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and cover with a lid.
  • Simmer the pork shoulder steaks for 1 hour 40 minutes.
  • Remove the cooked pork from the simmering stock. Serve as desired or set aside to cool completely for use in recipes.
