Ingredients
4pork shoulder steaksaround 700g total weight
250mllight chicken stock
1tablespoonhoisin sauce
1 wholestar anise
1/2teaspoonsea salt
1/2teaspoonMSG
Instructions
In a pot, add 4 pork shoulder steaks, 250 ml light chicken stock, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 whole star anise, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon MSG. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and cover with a lid.
Simmer the pork shoulder steaks for 1 hour 40 minutes.
Remove the cooked pork from the simmering stock. Serve as desired or set aside to cool completely for use in recipes.
