Use mozzarella sticks as an easy frozen snack, but spice them up with Chinese salt and pepper seasoning. Bake or air-fry the mozzarella sticks and then finish them in a hot wok or frying pan in just a minute or two with classic salt and chilli ingredients.
Ingredients For Salt And Chilli Mozzarella Sticks
You can of course make your own mozzarella sticks from scratch. But, this recipe makes good use of your favourite brand of fresh or frozen shop-bought mozzarella sticks. To finish, the classic mix of salt and chilli ingredients is used.
- Mozzarella Sticks: You can make your own, or use your favourite shop-bought fresh or frozen brand.
- Other Ingredients: Onion, Carrot, Spring Onion, Sunflower Oil, Chopped Garlic In Oil, Chinese Salt And Pepper Seasoning, Chilli Flakes, Rice Wine.
How To Make Salt And Chilli Mozzarella Sticks
You can prepare this dish very easily with shop-bought mozzarella sticks as the main ingredient. Simply bake or air fry, then toss in a hot wok or frying pan with the traditional salt and chilli ingredients. This only takes a minute or two, so you can easily make a lot of them to serve with other dishes for a crowd.
Step 1: Bake
Oven bake or air fry the mozzarella sticks according to their instructions.
Step 2: Salt And Chilli
When the mozzarella sticks are almost baked, heat a wok or large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add the sunflower oil, sliced onion and carrot and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add the sliced spring onion and chopped garlic in oil and mix well. Transfer the mozzarella sticks to the pan and season generously with the Chinese salt & pepper mix, stirring well to mix through. Finish with the crushed chilli flakes and rice wine and mix well once more.
Step 3: Serve
Transfer the salt and chilli mozzarella sticks to a serving plate.

- 2 teaspoons sunflower oil
- 1 small onion sliced
- 1/2 small carrot finely sliced
- 2 spring onions sliced

- 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed chilli flakes
- 2 teaspoons rice wine
