How To Make Salt & Sweet Popcorn
This delicious movie night popcorn takes just a few minutes to make. First, oil is heated in a pot until roaring hot. Corn kernels are added and mixed with the hot oil until the kernels start to pop. Sugar is quickly added and the corn is fully popped before being finished with a touch of sea salt.
Step 1: Heat Oil
Add 4 tablespoons sunflower oil to a large pot with a lid (leave the lid off for now). Heat over medium heat until almost smoking.
Step 2: Pop Corn
Add 8 tablespoons popping corn to pot and stir immediately to coat in oil. As soon as the corn begins to pop, add 2 tablespoons soft dark brown sugar and cover with a lid. Shake pan constantly over heat to ensure popcorn is coated evenly with sugar as it pops. Continue shaking pot until popping slows down and corn has popped.
Step 3: Cool & Serve
Remove from heat and transfer cooked popcorn to large serving bowl. Season with sea salt to taste and serve.
