Are you looking for a reliable pizza sauce recipe? This no-cook sauce is one I turn to time and again for pizza night. Above all, the rich tomato flavour is the star of the show here, as it should be. While the recipe is simple, most importantly, the results are delicious.
Ingredients for pizza sauce
In order to make good pizza sauce, we need good tomatoes. I like Cirio passata rustica. The consistency of these crushed tomatoes is perfect and the flavour is delicious. With just a little garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, dried oregano and olive oil, the tomato flavour is dominant. No cooking is required, but I like to prepare this sauce at least a little ahead of time nevertheless so that the flavour come out fully.
I make this sauce for pizza night, but it also works well as a pasta sauce. To use it for pasta, simply warm the sauce through briefly before mixing with cooked pasta. For a twist, why not consider adding a drop of BBQ sauce? This works well in both pizza and pasta. Perfect if you’d like to recreate a very well known takeaway chain bbq base pizza.
