When you’re in the mood for pizza but haven’t prepared any dough, naan bread pizza saves the day! Ready to eat in less than 15 minutes, it’s perfect for a quick dinner or snack and makes great use of shop bought breads.

For a good pizza night, it’s great if you can plan ahead and make good dough and good pizza sauce. But, life gets busy and it’s not always possible to plan ahead successfully. So, when time is in short supply and pizza cravings come around, this reliable naan bread pizza is perfect.

Ingredients For Naan Pizza

Since this recipe uses shop-bought bread, it’s easy to put together in just a few minutes. Some brands of naan have a reasonable shelf life, making them a handy store cupboard ingredient. You could use a homemade pizza sauce, but jarred tomato pasta sauce will work too. Of course, as is always the case with pizza, it’s a great opportunity to add your favourite meat or vegetable toppings too.

  • Naan: Any supermarket brand of naan will work. If you’re using an air fryer, you can buy mini naan that will fit snugly into the air fryer drawer.
  • Sauce: Easy Pizza Sauce, or any tomato pasta / pizza sauce.
  • Other Ingredients: Mozzarella Cheese, Optional Toppings: Pepperoni, Ham, Mushroom, Onion, Peppers, Sweetcorn, Onion, Bacon, Chillies, Pineapple, Fresh Basil, Hot Honey, etc.

How To Make Naan Pizza

Since the naan (bread) is already baked, all that’s required is for the bread to be topped with sauce, cheese and a small handful of your favourite toppings and then baked until the cheese is beautifully melted. This is best done quickly at a high heat in order to ensure the bread doesn’t become dry.

Step 1: Top

Preheat the oven to 200C / 400F / Gas Mark 6.

Arrange the naan on a baking tray. Top with sauce, cheese and preferred toppings.

Step 2: Bake

Transfer to the oven and bake for 5-6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and sizzling.

Step 3: Serve

Transfer the naan pizza to a serving plate, garnish with black pepper and dried oregano and serve.

Tips For Naan Pizza

  • Air Fry – Instead of baking, air fry for 5-6 minutes at 200C. Look for mini naan in supermarkets that fit air fryer drawers snugly.
  • BBQ – Add a tablespoon of squeezy BBQ sauce to pizza sauce for a bbq base variation.
